In addition to their clinical responsibilities, faculty are encouraged to develop academic interests in medical education, quality improvement, patient safety, clinical investigation, advocacy, leadership, and other areas of scholarship, supported by a strong culture of mentorship and collaboration.
Required qualifications include an MD, DO, or equivalent degree, eligibility for medical licensure in the State of California, board certification or board eligibility in Pediatrics, demonstrated commitment to excellence in clinical care, and commitment to working collaboratively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Preferred qualifications include strong interest in academic pediatrics and clinical education, excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, experience supervising or teaching medical students, residents, or fellows, current certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and/or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), as appropriate for the intended clinical assignment, interest in quality improvement, patient safety, clinical investigation, or other scholarly activities, and board certification or board eligibility in the applicable pediatric subspecialty.
